General Michael Langley, Commander of the US Africa Command, announced that his country fully supports the process of unifying the Libyan army.
This statement came during a meeting between him and General Charles Brown, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, with Libyan military leaders Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad and Lieutenant General Abdel Razek Al-Nathuri, on the sidelines of the 2024 African Defense Chiefs of Staff Conference in Gaborone, Botswana. According to a statement by the US Embassy via its official account on the “X” platform.

The embassy added that General Langley confirmed, saying: “The United States fully supports Libyan solutions to unify the Libyan army and ensure Libyan sovereignty.”
He continued: “We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening US-Libyan security cooperation with professional Libyan military officers in all regions to build a stable and unified Libya for the benefit of the Libyan people.”
