The Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation within the Government of National Unity has announced Libya’s successful bid to join the International Labour Organization’s board, representing the African continent for a tenure spanning three years.
As disclosed in a ministry statement shared on its official Facebook page on Friday, Libya’s appointment followed an electronic ballot cast by member nations during the 112th session of the organization’s conference held in Geneva.
During this conference, pivotal discussions centered on labor-related matters, aiming to enhance global working conditions while adhering to universally recognized labor standards. Agendas encompassed topics such as core labor principles and rights, the establishment of guidelines concerning biological hazards, the promotion of decent work, and the pursuit of social justice.
